Chuck the Chocolate Lab became very ill and had to be put down today.  The Melhorn family is in mourning as are those of use who knew Chuck and experienced his “uneekness” over the years.  We will miss you Chuck!

Kelly sent me this great photo of her and Aaron from when they were on vacation in Colorado recently.  I have heard about great concerts at Red Rock for years.

If you had told me a year ago that I would own my own home and have a dog I would have told you that you were crazy.  Now here I am, introducing my Pug to the neighbor’s newly adopted female Pug.  Violet is pictured here with her new gal pal, 4–year-old Bucky who moved in with Elizabeth, Rick and family today.  Below, Bucky is pictured with Austen and just waiting for his chance at a menage-a-trois is Sven the Nordic Spitz.

Violet received a Get Well card and gift from Teddy and Bear Townsend, best friends of one of my long time co-worker Kathy.  Kathy’s love for all dogs abounds and she generously shares it with all of us at work too.  Not only did she find the perfect dog-to-dog card but the gift bag had a dog theme also!  Of course there was a lovely chew toy in the bag!

Violet and a much larger dog went for the same toy at the same time today.  Violet was quicker and got the toy, but the other dog got Violet and bit her between the eyes.  She has been very needy and sleepy all evening and she looks pathetic.. her forehead is all swollen and it breaks my heart to look at her!  But in the end, she had the toy and the other dog got a time out.  This is what dogs do, right?

I just got an email from a co-worker who went home early today…   what do you think he is trying to say?  The weather in Duluth couldn’t be finer….

Dan and Bonnie spent a couple of days in Duluth earlier this past week.  The weather cooperated enough for them to serve Emily brunch one morning at Brighton Beach.  Hasn’t the weather been unusually nice lately??
