One of the web sites that I monitor daily is a site that buys up electronic equipment and sells it on line, one item per day until it is sold out. Once a month or so they have a big sale where the minute one thing sells out, they offer another item. I have purchased mp3 players for $25 or less, a Roomba, a computer for $295, etc. Shipping is always $5.00, no matter what you buy, but don't expect it to be on your door step the next day!
On the day they have their big sales, the last item of the day is always "a bag of crap" for $1.00. It is like a grab bag, you never know what you are going to get. But some people get lucky, one person got a 42" HDTV and others have gotten similar large items. Last month, I timed it right and happened to be on the computer for the end of the sale and purchased my "bag of crap." It finally arrived yesterday and as you can see, it is quite a load of crap. The book bag isn't so worthless, but the plastic aliens... well, what can I say? Probably painted with lead paint to boot! And the cordless headsets for Xbox would be wonderful if they still made them but they don't work on Xbox 360s. My "prize" prize, however is the 75 piece socket and wrench set. I see that if I wanted to buy this brand new it could range anywhere from $40 to $80, depending on where I bought it. I may never use it but it is nice to know that I got my dollar's worth!
