Thanks to cousin Ann for scanning these photos that Aunt Siggie inherited from Grandpa and Grandma Ojanen. My identifiers are guesses.. any comments are welcome!

Considering how old Dad looks in this picture, I would guess it is sometime between 1933 and 1935 which would make him between 5 and 7. Cute looking little pooch! Thanks to cousin Ann who found the photo in a box of Grandpa and Grandma’s belongings that Aunt Siggie has kept over the years. Friday, November 16

Austen and I went on an adventure last night and at the same time incorporated reading another chapter in the latest book we are working on. On our way into Duluth he referred to me as his "tutor" and I said, "No, I am your mentor" and told him he should look that up in the dictionary. I should have remembered that when later, a car pulled in front of me and I called them a name! First, we had burgers at Bridgeman's where I also talked him out of ordering a Lalapalooza. Next, we went to Barnes and Noble but there was too much distraction to read there so we sat in the comfy chairs right outside of B&N and read for an hour.We are currently reading "The Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan, a mythic adventure. It is an entertaining and witty book. Before we left we had to go to the Music Department and listen to some songs. On the way home, he tested the depths of my car stereo system by switching from rap to loud rock where at one point we had to yell to hear each other. Tuesday, November 13

Happy First Birthday to Lily, granddaughter of Sue and Boris. Grandpa is a pilot and has his own plane so it is only appropriate that he gives Lily a unique rocking airplane for her birthday. She appears to be enjoying it very much! Thursday, November 8

I had dinner with Emily and Kai on Tuesday night at one of the local Chinese joints. Emily celebrated her birthday over the weekend; they attended The Lion King on Saturday. Kelly, Sara, Becky and Lisa saw it on Sunday (see Kelly’s blog). The above photo is from Saturday, thanks to Dan for sending it! |
