Tom and Lisa continue to move forward on their home remodeling project.  What a handsome deck!  Big enough to have the whole family over for a party.

2007 Halloween 006

Congratulations to neighbors Rick and Elizabeth!  They won the Halloween Costume Contest at Grandma’s Sportsgarden on Saturday night.  Their prize was two tickets to see Ozzy Osborne and Rob Zombie at the Target Center on Halloween night!  Excellent costumes!  Scary couple!

Sara and I saw the Ben Affleck written and directed movie Gone Baby Gone this afternoon.  I thought it was a great movie because it was not predictable and had some pretty good acting, especially by Ed Harris.  If you like suspense/murder mystery movies, go see this one, it is worth your time.

Emily invited me to go see the annual UMD Theatre Department musical tonight.  They performed “Urinetown”, a play that neither of us had seen before.  Annie saw it when Minnesota State Moorhead performed it last summer and said that it was funny.  I have to agree with her, it was very entertaining and it had many good laughs.

Jane and I impulsively made our bi-annual trip up the North Shore on Saturday.  Jane suggested that the waterfalls would be in their prime after the record rainfalls earlier in the week so I was game to go on very brief hikes to accomodate her.  We were not disappointed.

Sleepover 001

Back in the old days when we got together we would cross stich for hours on end while Mom waited on us hand and foot serving us home made treats!

We went out to Le Bistro for dinner tonight and we are all a bit sluggish after a great meal.  I had some great Roast Duck L’orange, Bonnie had Scallops and Jane had Shrimp el Greco..  darn good food!

I had my first ever fender bender a few weeks ago, nothing major..  no damage to the other car but about $1500 to mine.  So now that I had this flawed car, I caught a case of "new car-itis"!  So I made a little deal with the local Subaru dealer and traded my 2004 WRX for a 2008 Legacy GT 2.5 Limited.   It is a hot car with fun extras like turbo, paddle shifters, and a navigation system.  It rides so smoothly that if I closed my eyes (not good when you are driving) I might think I was riding in Dad's old Buick that Tom now drives.  I am itching to go on a little trip before the snow flies.
