View Article  Movie Review - The Life and Death of Peter Sellers

I went to many, many movies during the 1960's when Peter Sellers was "hot" so I was really looking forward to seeing this movie.  I remember hearing that he was "strange" but according to this movie, "strange" is putting it mildly!  He was very, very funny in the Pink Panther movies.  But this movie shows a very different side of him.  He has violent temper tantrums, he hit his wives (he had four), and I don't think he ever grew up.  The movie left me with a very low, dark, sad feeling.

The highlight of the movie for me was Charlese Theron.  She played Brit Ecklund, the very beautiful Swedish model that was Seller's wife number two.  Theron is stunning and a perfect choice for the role.

I don't know that I would recommend this to someone who hadn't been a fan but I am glad that I saw it.  I have since read that it was pretty candy coated, that he was even stranger than what they portrayed in this movie.  Yikes, that is scary!

View Article  A Nice Lunchtime Surprise

I got a call from Gerry Aho this morning.  Her mother-in-law, Lillian Aho was having some knee surgery today so she and Kathy Olson were going to be at St. Luke's and wondered if I would like to meet them for lunch.

For those of you who do not know, Lillian Aho is my Dad's cousin.  Dad's mother Mary and Lillian's mother Susanna were sisters (Rantala).  Gerry is the wife of Lillian's son John and Kathy is the daughter of Ruth Karki who's husband was Dad's cousin Ed.

So what would that make Kathy, Gerry, and me?  Who the heck knows or cares, I just always have such a nice time visiting with them that I wish we would get together more often!
