I went to many, many movies during the 1960's when Peter Sellers was "hot" so I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. I remember hearing that he was "strange" but according to this movie, "strange" is putting it mildly! He was very, very funny in the Pink Panther movies. But this movie shows a very different side of him. He has violent temper tantrums, he hit his wives (he had four), and I don't think he ever grew up. The movie left me with a very low, dark, sad feeling.
The highlight of the movie for me was Charlese Theron. She played Brit Ecklund, the very beautiful Swedish model that was Seller's wife number two. Theron is stunning and a perfect choice for the role.
I don't know that I would recommend this to someone who hadn't been a fan but I am glad that I saw it. I have since read that it was pretty candy coated, that he was even stranger than what they portrayed in this movie. Yikes, that is scary!
