Emily tells me that they have some new computer software at school called SmartMusic.  They connected the microphone to her saxophone and when she started playing the software automatically accompanies her.  How cool is that?  What will they think of next?

Either this picture or one very similar to it was used for the family Christmas card that year.  You can tell by the matted hair on Donna's and my dolls that we were posing with last year's toys. 

How amazing that we could all smile at once!  I seem to be missing some teeth, pretty typical of a first grader.
