Brett, Jill, and Gina are Joan's kids, Alan's step-children.  Jill is attending college in Rochester, MN and Gina works in Elgin, MN.  Brett is in the Marines, he just completed a diesel mechanic class in North Carolina where he has been since August.  Brett has done very well in the Marines.  He had a goal of making Sergeant before he turned 21 and he made it!  He is hoping to get some leave in January so hopefully I will get to see him then.
