I went to Cook on Saturday to visit with Dad and Shirley. The Kontios were gathering to celebrate Kathy’s retirement and before they went out to dinner came over with the remains of Kathy’s delicious retirement cake. In the photo above are Melissa (Kathy’s daughter), cousins Kathy, Ann, Sue and Aunt Siggie who will be celebrating her birthday next week.
Dad, Shirley and I attended the Grand March for the Cook High School Prom to see Justin and Alisha in their finest. All of the kids looked so nice and had a fun evening planned including dinner at the El-Roy. I think that is the same place my classmates went to for their prom dinners!
Here are Justin and Alisha again with their friends after the Grand March.
Violet had a very busy day inspecting “Grandpa” and Shirley’s home and “marking” spots of it as her own. She was so busy in fact that when we got home at about 7:45 pm, she fell asleep by 8:00 and didn’t wake up until 7:00 this morning! All of that attention wore her out. She was unusally attached to me with the large crowd around. Tom and Lisa stopped by too and gave me a great shirt that says “All Dogs are Pets, Pugs are Family”. I was tickled to death and look forward to wearing it. Thursday, May 1

Red looks pretty content here with his new sister Callie. Tark and Joelle recently rescued Red from the Minnesota Golden Retriever Rescue Group.

Violet was sent a treat in the mail by Petco; it was a hard chew treat with solid “real” cheese in the middle. I gave it to her as soon as I opened it right after work. It was about 6 inches long and my little obsessive-compulsive puppy had it down to about an inch by the time bedtime rolled around. Wednesday, April 30

Congratulations to Bronson who had the training wheels taken off of his bike recently and is contemplating doing a jump off of a rock that is just outside the photo. Yikes.. Tuesday, April 29

Violet has grown quite a bit.. She now can leap on and off of the ottoman. This made the playpen obsolete because when I tried to put her in it last weekend, she took a flying leap over the fence and landed on the ottoman. Where is a camera when you need it? We still keep part of the playpen up to protect electronics. Our other milestone is that she is back to eating out of her bowl again. We still like our little bonding ritual of me breaking up her little “chicken drum-stick” dog biscuits and feeding them to her piece by piece as she snuggles on my shoulder, but after hiding liver treats at the bottom of her kibble, she has decided she likes to eat out of the bowl again. I can’t figure out what scared her away from the bowl because she uses a matching bowl for water. Go figure… Wondering what the blue and white device is below?? Ever heard of the Wiz Dog? Check out the link, it is a great device for a condo dog.

I have been thinking about Mom a lot this week, she would have been 75 last Tuesday.
Now who would have guessed that there are a plethora of “Evadne” items on Amazon.com?
